MH370

Hi everyone..currently,all around the world paying their attention to the rescue and searching Malaysia Airline aircraft that have been missing a few days ago. There is still no reason why the big aeroplane could missed from radar and cannot been detected by any update instrumentation.Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 or mostly known as MH370 is a passenger flight that disappeared on 8 March 2014 on route from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Beijing,Republic Of China.Boeing 777-200ER,last made contact with air traffic control less than an hour after take-off.The aircraft was operated by Malaysia Airlines and was carrying 12 crew members and 227 passengers include 2 infants.
According from wikipedia, this accident will be the most huge number of passengers that .The passengers of flight MH370 are of 14 different nationalities. You can check the number of nationality here Nationalities of passengers. As the search for the missing aircraft extends into the vast seas on both sides of the Malay Peninsula, the world is wondering: How can 12 countries (for the moment), using more than 100 vessels and 5 aircraft over 6 days, fail to locate any debris or clues from a jumbo jet on Earth?Unless it correctly disappear from normal human vision i thought.

There are few theories regarding to the missing of this aeroplane. One of the theories is a minor mechanical failure that happened to this flight. One of the scholar said,a sudden decompression that renders everyone onboard unconcisous could happen as something more serious like the shutdown of both the plane's engines. However, this 'crucial' theory has been denied by John Goglia,a former member of the Unites States National Transportation Safety Board. He said,if the both engines sudden shutdown the pilot have much time to send emergency signal or order any rescue from air traffic control. In addition, the aircraft are able to keep fly 60 to 90 miles and of course with 18,365 flying hours experience, the captain should be able to make the flight landing onto seawater and keep move the fly to the nearest airport.

The second theories is the aeroplane may being hijacked by terrorists.Based on The Independent News report, the hijackers suspected from Jemaah Islamiyah or JI,a linked Al-Qaeda where operation in Indonesia. Moreover, the latest position of the plane puts it on flightpath known as "p628" that links the region to Europe and takes it towards the Middle East.In fact, they strongly believe there is teh East Turkestan Islamic movement,an umbrella group wanting a homeland for ethnic Vighuns in China 's Xinjiang region and thought to be responsible for the recent Kunming railway station attack in which 29 were killed Nd 130 injured. But,all the theories once more against to the current fact that stated, there is no group declare any contribution to this missing flight

This airship was headed by Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah 53,a veteran n senior pilot with many flying hours who had being with Malaysia Airlines since 1981.However,many voices blamed Capt Zaharie and his Co Pilot,Mr Fariq regarding to this incident.Investigator say that the autopilot switched itself off after the speed sensors become blocked and the pilot then steeved the plane at too steep of an angle before it stalled and crashed into the sea or land.Another theory state that this is a deliberate crash. In record, there have been eight plane crashes linked to pilot suicide since 1976 such as Silk Air Flight 185 in 1997 and Egypt Air Flight 990 in 1999.But there is nothing to suggest that either the pilot,Capt Zaharie Shah and First Officer Fariq Abdul Hamid had any motive to end their lives.

Until now after 8 days the Malaysia Airlines confirms that the unlucky aircraft MH370 has lost contact with Subang Air Traffic Control on 2.40 a.m,the search and rescue team are still proceed to keep looking the flight. The rescue team are contribute from AustraliaKazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, China , Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia and France..Malaysia as well deployed their assets to the search operations at the South China Sea and now they would focussed on northern corridor stretching approximately from the Bounder of Kazakhstan and Turkeministan to northern Thailand. The efforts countries that join Malaysia in the search are reallyappreciated by Malaysia citizen.

Positivism

Have you ever heard of the word positivism?. According to Wikipedia, positivism is a philosophy of science based on the view that information derived from logical and mathematical treatments and reports of sensory experience the exclusive source of all authoritative knowledge, and that there is valid knowledge only in scientific knowledge.

In other word, Positivism is a way of thinking based on the assumption that it is possible to observe social life and establish reliable, valid knowledge about how it works. This knowledge can then be used to affect the course of social change and improve the human condition itself. Positivism as a term was introduced into the social sciences by Auguste Comte (1798-1857), who held that sociology should be scientific, thus it should deal only with hypotheses which were directly verifiable.

An example of the use of positivist methodology is Emile Durkheim's (1897) study Suicide. Within this study, Durkheim discovered social structural explanations for suicide, an act which is generally perceived as particularly individualised. He found that the level of social integration of an individual into society was a crucial factor in the prevention of suicide. Therefore he argued that those individuals who, for one reason or another, are socially excluded from society are more likely to commit suicide.

The founder of positivism, Auguste Comte, stated:
'No real observation of any kind of phenomena is possible, except in so far as it is first directed, and finally interpreted, by some theory. The positive philosophy does not dissolve this obligation, but, on the contrary, extends and fulfils it more and more, the further the relations of phenomena are multiplied and perfected by it. Hence it is clear.that science can only use those observations which are connected, at least hypothetically, with some law; that it is such a connection which makes the chief difference between scientific and popular observation'. (The Positive Philosophy of Auguste Comte (1830-42), (vol.2), translated by Harriet Martineau, 1896).

Stress

Stress is not a useful term for scientists because it is such a highly subjective phenomenon that it defies definition. And if you can’t define stress, how can you possibly measure it? The term “stress”, as it is currently used was coined by Hans Selye in 1936, who defined it as “the non-specific response of the body to any demand for change”. Selye had noted in numerous experiments that laboratory animals subjected to acute but different noxious physical and emotional stimuli (blaring light, deafening noise, extremes of heat or cold, perpetual frustration) all exhibited the same pathologic changes of stomach ulcerations, shrinkage of lymphoid tissue and enlargement of the adrenals. He later demonstrated that persistent stress could cause these animals to develop various diseases similar to those seen in humans, such as heart attacks, stroke, kidney disease and rheumatoid arthritis. At the time, it was believed that most diseases were caused by specific but different pathogens. Tuberculosis was due to the tubercle bacillus, anthrax by the anthrax bacillus, syphilis by a spirochete, etc. What Selye proposed was just the opposite, namely that many different insults could cause the same disease, not only in animals, but in humans as well.

Selye’s theories attracted considerable attention and stress soon became a popular buzzword that completely ignored Selye’s original definition. Some people used stress to refer to an overbearing or bad boss or some other unpleasant situation they were subjected to. For many, stress was their reaction to this in the form of chest pain, heartburn, headache or palpitations. Others used stress to refer to what they perceived as the end result of these repeated responses, such as an ulcer or heart attack. Many scientists complained about this confusion and one physician concluded in a 1951 issue of the British Medical Journal that, “Stress in addition to being itself, was also the cause of itself, and the result of itself.”

Unfortunately, Selye was not aware that stress had been used for centuries in physics to explain elasticity, the property of a material that allows it to resume its original size and shape after having been compressed or stretched by an external force. As expressed in Hooke’s Law of 1658, the magnitude of an external force, or stress, produces a proportional amount of deformation, or strain, in a malleable metal. This created even more confusion when his research had to be translated into foreign languages. There was no suitable word or phrase that could convey what he meant, since he was really describing strain. In 1946, when he was asked to give an address at the prestigious Collège de France, the academicians responsible for maintaining the purity of the French language struggled with this problem for several days, and subsequently decided that a new word would have to be created. Apparently, the male chauvinists prevailed, and le stress was born, quickly followed by el stress, il stress, lo stress, der stress in other European languages, and similar neologisms in Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Arabic. Stress is one of the very few words you will see preserved in English in these and other languages that do not use the Roman alphabet.

Because it was apparent that most people viewed stress as some unpleasant threat, Selye subsequently had to create a new word, stressor, to distinguish stimulus from response. Stress was generally considered as being synonymous with distress and dictionaries defined it as “physical, mental, or emotional strain or tension” or “a condition or feeling experienced when a person perceives that demands exceed the personal and social resources the individual is able to mobilize.” Thus, stress was put in a negative light and its positive effects ignored. However, stress can be helpful and good when it motivates people to accomplish more.

increased stress results in increased productivity
up to a point, after which things go rapidly downhill. However, that point or peak differs for each of us, so you need to be sensitive to the early warning symptoms and signs that suggest a stress overload is starting to push you over the hump. Such signals also differ for each of us and can be so subtle that they are often ignored until it is too late. Not infrequently, others are aware that you may be headed for trouble before you are.

Any definition of stress should therefore also include good stress, or what Selye called eustress. For example, winning a race or election can be just as stressful as losing, or more so. A passionate kiss and contemplating what might follow is stressful, but hardly the same as having a root canal procedure.

Selye struggled unsuccessfully all his life to find a satisfactory definition of stress. In attempting to extrapolate his animal studies to humans so that people would understand what he meant, he redefined stress as “The rate of wear and tear on the body”. This is actually a pretty good description of biological aging so it is not surprising that increased stress can accelerate many aspects of the aging process. In his later years, when asked to define stress, he told reporters, “Everyone knows what stress is, but nobody really knows.”

As noted, stress is difficult to define because it is so different for each of us. A good example is afforded by observing passengers on a steep roller coaster ride. Some are hunched down in the back seats, eyes shut, jaws clenched and white knuckled with an iron grip on the retaining bar. They can’t wait for the ride in the torture chamber to end so they can get back on solid ground and scamper away. But up front are the wide-eyed thrill seekers, yelling and relishing each steep plunge who race to get on the very next ride. And in between you may find a few with an air of nonchalance that borders on boredom. So, was the roller coaster ride stressful?

The roller coaster analogy is useful in explaining why the same stressor can differ so much for each of us. What distinguished the passengers in the back from those up front was the sense of control they had over the event. While neither group had any more or less control their perceptions and expectations were quite different. Many times we create our own stress because of faulty perceptions you can learn to correct. You can teach people to move from the back of the roller coaster to the front, and, as Eleanor Roosevelt noted, nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent. While everyone can’t agree on a definition of stress, all of our experimental and clinical research confirms that the sense of having little or no control is always distressful – and that’s what stress is all about.

The Importance of Soft Skills for Graduates

Hello everyone ! Our entry for this time is about the soft skills. Did you know what is meant by soft skills? Let us explain in details to you guys. Soft skills is a term often associated with a person's "E.Q" (Emotional Intelligence Quotient), the cluster of personality traits, social graces, communication, language, personal habits, friendliness, and optimism that characterize relationships with other people. Soft skills complement hard skills which are the occupational requirements of a job and many other activities. They are related to feelings, emotions, insights and an inner knowing. Soft skills are personal attributes that enhance an individual's interactions, job performance and career prospects. Unlike hard skills, which are about a person's skill set and ability to perform a certain type of task or activity, soft skills relate to a person's ability to interact effectively with co-workers and customers and are broadly applicable both in and outside the workplace.

Why is that these skills are the most importance elements to us especially once we had graduated?

According to statistics from the Ministry of Higher Education in its official website, there were 337.884 people graduated with a bachelor of graduation in all the public and private institutions in 2005 and 2009. From that total, the Ministry of Higher Education found that nearly 60,000 unemployed graduates reported in 2009. Among the causes of this phenomenon are the disadvantages of soft skills among graduates being touted as a cause of the phenomenon of unemployed graduates.

Hence, as we can see from above statements we can conclude that the soft skills are mainly needed for graduate to seek for their first job. As can be seen, though many students graduate from university with the excellent degrees, they can not get a good job at a highly reputable company. Why? The answer is so obvious, because most students lack of soft skills which are required for a good job. From these, you can see that soft skills are very necessary for students’ jobs in the future.

Job seekers equate to more than just their resumes, which outline unique educational and employment histories. However valuable these may be, there are a wide range of other qualities that recruiters look for in potential candidates. These are often referred to as “soft skills”. In today’s ever-competitive job market, the measure of an individual’s general career success is the ability to use these soft skills to adapt to any assignment.

It cannot be expressed adequately how important soft skills are and how they can position a candidate for success in the workplace. As a job seeker, it’s critical that you leverage soft skills for landing a new job. As an employer, it’s important that you help your employees develop these soft skills in their everyday tasks.

There are a few soft skill that are important for graduates once they entered in their workplace in order to inspire the employers. But the most important soft skill is communication skill. The ability to communicate with others is a critical soft skill in workplaces today. Communication in the form of written materials, such as emails and letters, can support business objectives. Communication delivered to peers and customers in a verbal format can make or break a business. All job seekers can develop the soft skill of communication and become more valuable to employers by taking public speaking classes, honing their writing skills, and learning more about body language’s role in communication.

As the conclusion that can be made, the soft skills are very important to us especially once we had graduated. This is because employers nowadays were focused on the quality of the employees that they will employ for their companies. It's not just about quantity, it's all about quality.

Marrying outside one 's Caste is still considered a taboo in India and in some of the south east asian countries.Further , what was considered social taboo in the past , with the passage of time and the society becomes when progressive in its thinking , can become acceptable .No hard and fast , the rule of the thumb , cans be laid down as to what is exactly a taboo . If one attempts to prepare an exhaustive list of socially banned items , or practices, or customs , then it should be really educative and probably the person can start some academic research with standard and poor information.Anything that's is forbidden , unmentionable , unthinkable , Prohibited , proscribed , outlawed , and inviolable by the majority of the people the coop you live , find the safely be classified as social taboo .To widen your comprehension of this bizarre and grotesque word , which is fulled by the force of the so called conformists who safely label others as a renegade , kindly pose this question under the Psychology category , and see what replies folks who pour from our sitting behind Their curtain of subjective normality , call others Abnormal , and banish Those who practice these taboos
